Sick again

Owen was just starting to feel better but seems to be getting sick again. He slept all afternoon and had the saddest cry when he woke up, just wanting to nurse and go back to sleep.

Big boy shopping trip

Owen saw the grocery store in a whole new way today. He was pretty mesmerized looking at everything.

And we didnt have any visitors today and so Owen actually went to sleep at his regular bed time tonight. And slept through the night cuz he luvs me.

Holiday hats

Owen and cousin Stone show off their holiday hats.

Stone is just about ready to crawl and is trying to get Owen, but when he gets distracted by his toy Owen tries to get his attention so he will keep playing with him. They were so cute together.

Owen's First Christmas

Owen celebrated his first Christmas morning with Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa Bob and Auntie Jess. Owen got some squishy blocks that he really liked and a bunch of really cute clothes. Grandpa Bob looks really silly holding his new dove decoys and Owen was trying out Pene's new doggy bed with her. Aunt De was such a responsible babysitter with her wine-charm teether. Dinner was delicious and we took in a couple of extra friends and family to make it feel like a real holiday. We had such a great Christmas.

Owen asked Santa (aka Gus the green tree frog) for his two front teeth for Christmas this year.

Sausage grind

The men got together to grind all their meat and make sausage. This was the longest sausage of the night.

I didn't take my sock off

Who me? I didn't do it. That sock came off on it's own.






Owen always gets his right sock off and then he gets his big toe in the left one to slide it off. He has already lost a couple in the store. I don't know how he gets it off so fast.

Christmas tree decorating

Owen helped decorate his first Christmas tree today. He really loves all the lights and ornaments.

Big night out

We went out to dinner for my birthday while Owen hung out with the cousins. These are some happy babysitters.

When the diaper can't hold it all

Step 1
Asses the damage. Move straight to the tub.

Step 2
Strip baby head down to toes so as not to get poop in his hair.

Step 3
Rinse everything. Clothes, diaper cover, baby.

Step 4
Set baby on rug and clean tub, might as well clean the whole thing bc you know there won't be another time to do it.

Step 5
Undress self bc baby has now pee'd on your pants and you probably have poop on your shirt.

Step 6
Bath baby, dry off and give him lots of kisses bc he is so cute in his towel.

Celebrating early

Owen is not quite tall enough to touch his feet to the floor in his new bouncer from Grandma Marla. But he is figuring out how to bounce around in it and he likes to try and reach for all the toys with his mouth.



Owen was the life of the party at our first christmas party this year with the Kraft family. He was not real sure how to open his presents but cousin Natalie was happy to help him.

California International Marathon

7000 runners braved the 30 degree temps early Sunday morning for the CIM and we were just as crazy as the rest of them. After an early drop off at 5:30am Owen and I went to mile 6 and hung out in the warm car till the runners started coming. We saw all our friends go by but missed Adam; it was really crowded. Then we made it over to mile 13 where we saw Adam and gave him some food and he ditched his sweaty beanie. We had to hurry over to the finish but didnt see Susan and Steven finish because they were too fast, finishing in under 3 hours. Adam was hurting but he was still smiling at the end in 4hours 20 min. Jeff did well even running in a vikings shirt thanks to a losing bet and Kevin and Kristen both got personal bests. Owen had fun cheering on everyone.

Owen loves the dogs and really wants to play with them. He is still learning how to play gentle and he thinks he can learn everything by putting it in his mouth so he tries to taste the dogs, which is really funny.

Houdini

Owen is an escape artist. Our very favorite blanket, the Amazing Miracle Blanket no longer can keep this little one swaddled. Owen has slept in it every night since he came come from the hospital. It always would calm him down when he got real upset as a newborn and it still relaxes him at night when he goes in his crib to sleep. The past week he has been getting his one arm out in the morning but this morning he had an arm, a leg and most of his upper body out and he was all twisted around in his crib. So tonight he is ditching the miracle blanket, let's see how he sleeps without it.
