Thanks for hanging out with me and teaching me how to cluck. (It is a really funny noise I make with my tongue and I only do it for Grandma.) I will keep practicing my tummy time until you come back to visit.

happy baby

Isn't this the cutest smile you ever saw? Owen had a busy day shopping for a good halloween costume. And he survived the shopping as long as we kept his belly full, he is just like his dad that way. And after a long day, Mommy and Grandma were pooped but Owen was still goofing off and making funny faces for the camera.

 

A whole 8 hours

Owen is so well rested after a whole 8 hours of sleep last night.

Modified tummy time

Owen does not love tummy time but thinks this is alright.

Who sleeps like this?

This hat is designed to cover babys eyes while they nap in a carseat or stroller. What baby wants a hat pulled down over their eyes. Owen thought it was terrible.

I didn't do it

Owen looks mighty guilty laying in a pile of toys. But he can guarantee he didn't do it, anyways he can't even sit up much less spread toys all over the house. It was the wrath of Donovan that was left at the end is the day. Donovans dad helped Adam work on the backyard so Owen had a playmate all day. Owen really liked watching him roll the tonka truck. And Donovan was always checking on "the baby" and bringing him toys to chew on. They had a fun day.

Morning smiles

The sweetest smiles are the ones that greet you first thing in the morning. It is so sweet to walk into Owens room when he starts crying in the morning and when he sees me, his face lights up and he gives me a big gummy smile. Oh it warms the heart.

Today Owen has been really fighting off a nap. He would fall asleep for 5 minutes and then wake back up and it was making him grumpy. He finally gave in and fell asleep on my shoulder at 3.

Everything in the Mouth

Owen has found his mouth and really wants to find out how everything tastes. But he doesn't quite have the motor skills to get anything in his mouth except his fist. This is his new favorite toy and we help him get to chew on all the different shapes and he really enjoys their different textures. I think the green one is his favorite.

Strolling

Owen and I went for a long walk and Owen was awake the whole time just enjoying the fresh air.

Showing off his good side

Owen tends to show off his good side for all his friends. Jess and Hossein got to see Owen on his best behavior. He slept in the car both ways and only cried the last 1/2 mile. Then he napped at the sandwich shop so we could eat. And while we visited he was being all cute and easy to love. We both had a fun day.


After Owens bath he had to say hi to all his friends on the walls in his room because he missed them much.

Only 4 hours

Owen has gone backwards to only sleeping for 4 hours during his longest stretch for the last two nights. So I guess the crib is going to take some getting used to.
Owen thinks it is funny when mommy is in a zombie state of lack of sleep.

Big boy crib

Owen slept in his crib in his own room for the first time. He did just fine... 6 hours and then another 2. Mom was not quite as rested, I woke every few hours, just sleeping too lightly. I missed him a little. He is growing up fast.

Doggies to the rescue

Owen was practicing sitting up in his bumpo and was enjoying the view from this new angle...



... And then his neck got tired from holding up his head and Jax and Pene came to his rescue. Too bad giving Owen their toy was not exactly what he wanted.

Sunday night football

More football and more napping. Owen says "gooo oooh eee" ... that means "go team!"

Owen is super excited for football season. Partly because the best part about Sunday football is all the afternoon naps.

Baby's first thumb suck

When Owen sleeps he often likes to rest his head on his arms. But when I looked down at him during his afternoon nap he had managed to get his thumb into his mouth all on his own.

Big boy keeps growing

This adorable little man is 12 pounds 3 ounces on his two-month birthday.



And today he got his first set of shots. Aren't all those bandaides sad?



Owen was grumpy afterward and slept a lot today. He needed lots of cuddling so it was nice when grandma Marla stopped by to give him extra special grandma hugs that he really luvs. But by the evening he was smiling and cooing again.

Play Time

Owen and Stone are so cute playing together. They both are getting so big and stone was showing Owen how he can grab onto the rings and how he can hold his head up really well during tummy time.

Happy Birthday Papa

Today we celebrated Papa Lon's 9/9/09 birthday with a delicious BBQ dinner thanks to Adam. Owen is so lucky to have so many family members who luv to hold and play with him. And Papa is lucky to have so many cute grandsons and one adorable granddaughter all together for his birthday.

Thanks Grandma

Owen really liked the new toy grandma sent him so he would have something to look at in the car instead if just the back of the seat. He stared at it for a while before he fell asleep on our way to grandpa lon's house. It was a cozy 3h ride with Jax on the seat next to Owen and Pene on the floor on the otherside.

Six Hours

Six hours -- yes finally six whole hours of sleep in a row, and it only took 8 weeks.

Totally out

Our first overnight since Santa Barbara and without Adam was a success. Owen was good in San Francisco and slept well in Aunt Jess's bed even though she doesn't have a fan and the neighbors were practicing roller derby or something.

When we got home today we were both exhausted and zonked out on the couch. Owen napped for 2 1/2 hours which is huge compared to his usual 45 minutes.

SF trip

Today Owen and I drove out to SF to visit Aunt Jess, so she took the afternoon off. We went to lunch then to the Museum of Modern Art because it was free today. Owen seemed to enjoy all the art and did not want to stay in his stroller. He wanted to be held so he could have a good view. His favorite was a black, white and red painting. He is so cultured;)
