We were really excited to get out of the house for the whole day and visit our friends camping outside of Truckee. After a stop at the grocery store for snacks, a quick gas stop and a baby feeding stop we finally arrived at Jackson Meadows. The weather was warm but not hot and we were all going to go to the lake. But, we heard a thunderstorm approaching so we figured we would wait for the few sprinkles to pass.
Well, the sprinkles were accompanied by hail, it got kinda chilly and lasted a few hours. We saw a few lightning strikes in the distance and the thunder was really booming. We all had to bunker down under their shade cover, and then had to add a tarp to keep the rain from coming through the not so waterproof cover. We had quite a few blankets so we were pretty warm. Owen was totally relaxed. All the rain and thunder, plus lots of warm covers and he slept right through it (except when he woke up to eat and pee).We had a fun adventure, and even though we were all exhausted when we got home, it sure was nice to get outdoors and enjoy the very fresh air.
