Derby

Big boy bed

Owen has been sleeping in his toddler bed for two weeks. He started climbing on to the top rails of his crib in the morning and we were just too scared that he would get hurt. I know people say to just get a tent and keep them in the crib until they are three but I really felt like he would not love that. So when the bed arrived Owen helped daddy assemble the bed. He just loves playing with the screwdriver and his pretend drill. Then when we got it all ready Owen jumped in the bed with his night-night blanket and played there for an hour. I thought we were going to have it easy. Well, not so much. That day he cried and cried at naptime and I finally set up his pack n play so he would get some sleep. He wanted straight in the pack n play that night too. But the next day Owen found a surprise under his blanket at bedtime - Elmo! He laid down with Elmo, I read him another story and he went to sleep. He has been sleeping in his new bed since, and Elmo joins him for naps and bedtime. He still falls asleep on his own, but he likes a little extra cuddle time before I leave the room and he wakes up earlier. A couple days he was up at 5 am, I asked him to lay down for a little longer, that lasted all of 30 minutes. But he is so cute in the morning; we hear him get out of bed gather his favorite plush and knock on the door. One morning he says "Mommy, all done!"

Watering the dog

Last summer Owen was just tall enough to try and drink out of the dog's spicket. He still loves playing with the water and laughing at the dogs splash around.

Owen loves to bring his legos or trains outside too.

Busy busy

Just always so busy playing in the water. The funniest thing is when Owen wants to cool off and he just dips his head, hat and all, straight into the water table. Owen just loves playing outside when the weather is warm.

Potty training outdoors

So much easier to get to the potty when there aren't any pants getting in your way.

Splash time

Owen has been waiting for the water park all winter. He would walk around the water spouts longing for that spray. Needless to say he is extremely happy to be soaking wet at the park!
