Monkey man
Monkey man loves to climb. This is the only drawer in the kitchen without baby locks so he likes to pull it out and play with the cookie sheets. Only now he has decided it is fun to climb into the drawer and then bang on the cookie sheets.

The last drop of milk
Today was the first day without any breastfeeding. My little baby is a big toddler now and I am so proud of him. I really am not sad or excited, it just seems like a natural next step. Owen was a pro at nursing from day 1 and I know that I am the lucky one. In fact when the lactation consultant checked on us in the hospital she assumed he was not my first baby since he was doing everything perfectly.
Of course it was not easy to keep it up for all this time. He had a few nursing strikes and it took a lot of determination to stick to it and be very patient with him. We had all the same concerns as others out there, was he getting enough milk, would the new teeth ever stop hurting so bad, and of course the frustration of being tethered to a milk clock day and night. I have lots of respect for all the working moms who pump at work, because it is not easy and there were many days when I was so busy that I just wanted to stop.
We made it one year and six weeks! After his first birthday we slowly worked in more whole milk and he is drinking from a straw cup and only has a bottle for naptime and bedtime. Now my little man is walking, running and signing, what a little toddler:)
